South Jakarta KPKP Plans to Add 100 Green Alleys This Year

This year, Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-department plans to add 100 green alleys in South Jakarta. These green alleys are not only used to green the city, but also as a medium to develop urban farming.

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-department's Food and Agriculture Section Head, Sundari said, 100 green alleys will be realized in 10 sub-districts.

"From data in 2016, South Jakarta has 11 green alleys. This year, we will add 100 green alleys to realize urban farming model," she mentioned, Monday (2/3).

Dozens of AIESEC Students Study Urban Farming in Central Jakarta

Her side will start to build green alley in mid of this February. She assessed, it needs collaboration with the locals to improve activities in green alleys.

"We will coordinate with KPKP Unit in each Sub-district to encourage local residents to activate the green alley. I hope other residents will be encouraged to follow this action around March-April," she stated.
